Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy explains how RICORTU collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the RICORTU app, website, and related services.

RICORTU is a private travel memory app for iOS and Android. The app helps users save visited places, countries, wish-list destinations, notes, photos, travel memories, and map-based place records.

We use data to:
RICORTU is not a GPS tracking app and does not continuously monitor your location. The app is based on places you choose to save, such as cities, countries, wish-list destinations, or map-based place records. If you use map display, place search, or geocoding features, selected place information, search queries, approximate map regions, coordinates, and technical request data may be processed by map providers such as Mapbox so that maps and search can work. If you import photos from your device, RICORTU may read location metadata embedded in those photos, only after you grant the required photo or media permissions and choose to use the photo import feature.
You may choose to attach photos to travel memories. Photos stored only on your device are not automatically uploaded to RICORTU. Currently, regular memory photos are intended to stay on your device unless you explicitly use a feature that uploads them. If you send feedback with an image attachment, that attachment may be uploaded to our cloud storage so we can review your support request. If RICORTU later enables cloud photo archive, backup, or sync, uploaded photos and related metadata may be stored using our cloud providers, and the app will describe that feature before or when you enable it. RICORTU does not use your private photos for public galleries, advertising profiles, or sale to third parties.
RICORTU currently works primarily as a local private travel archive. Some versions may include limited travel data backup or cloud archive preparation features. If RICORTU later offers account features, broader cloud archive, or photo cloud archive, we will update this Privacy Policy and related in-app disclosures before or when those features become available. Photos remain on your device unless you choose a feature that uploads them, such as feedback attachments or a future cloud archive feature.
RICORTU may use third-party service providers to operate the app:
RICORTU is private by default. Your saved places, notes, photos, wish-list destinations, travel memories, and map-based records are not public unless you choose to export or share them. If you create a share card, export an image, save a file, or send content to another app or person, that exported copy is controlled by the destination app, service, or recipient.
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide RICORTU, maintain local app functionality, provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, enforce terms, and protect service security. Local-only data stored on your device remains on that device until you delete the app, clear app data, or remove the content yourself. Feedback records and attachments may be retained as long as needed to review, respond to, and improve the app. Waitlist email addresses may be retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
You can request deletion of feedback records, uploaded feedback attachments, waitlist information, or any cloud data associated with your email address by contacting privacy@ricortu.app. If you used RICORTU without signing in, provide any information that may help us identify your request, such as the email address used for feedback or waitlist submission, or state that you were a local-only user. If a version of RICORTU offers account or cloud archive features, you can request deletion of account or cloud data by contacting privacy@ricortu.app. If an in-app deletion option is available in your version, you may also use that option. Local-only data on your device can be deleted by removing the content in the app, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app. We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted network connections where applicable, and security practices offered by our service providers. However, no method of transmission, processing, or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, operating system, email account, and any account credentials if account features become available in the future secure.
RICORTU is not designed for children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law to use online services without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to RICORTU, contact privacy@ricortu.app so we can review the situation and delete the information where appropriate.
RICORTU and its service providers may process, transfer, and store information in countries other than the country where you live. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as contractual protections or service provider transfer mechanisms.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to request portability of your data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@ricortu.app. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
RICORTU does not sell personal data. We do not sell your saved places, notes, photos, wish-list destinations, travel memories, account information, waitlist email address, or feedback data to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as RICORTU evolves, as features change, or as legal requirements change. When we update the policy, we will revise the Last updated date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, or email where appropriate.
